Beach clean up
Monday 8 March, from 4.30 pm
Where: Himatangi Beach, Himatangi. Meet at the beach carpark.
The Department of Conservation (DOC) and the Feilding Brownies will be involved in a beach clean-up at Himatangi Beach. Anybody is welcome. The collected material will be recycled by Junk & Disorderly making puppets at Fish Fest on Sunday 14th March. Fish Fest
Sunday 14 March, 2 pm - 6 pm
Where: Manawatu Marine Boat Club grounds, 50 Hartley Street, Foxton Beach
Bring the family for a great day of the fun and games at the beach. There will be lots of fish stuff, plus games, activities and prizes. Highlights will include:
- boat trips (weather dependent),
- samples of local fish species
- marine mammal rescue training with DOC & Project Jonah
- a Sea-lebrity Parade. Come dressed as a creature from the sea or the coast and be part of the parade at 4pm. You can make your own costume at home, or make a sea creature out of recycled waste material collected from the beach with Junk & Disorderly. There will be prizes up for grabs, including a trip for two to Kapiti Island
- plenty of people to talk to about fish and fishing including rangers from the Ministry of Fisheries and experienced fishermen from the boat club.

Standing Ground Toitū te Whenua: River concert, craft activities, & a procession
Saturday 13 March, from 1.30 pm
Where: In the Square, Palmerston North
1:30pm Craft - children's and adults’ craft starts at 1:30pm and continues throughout the concert, with Junk and Disorderly, and Kiwi Conservation Club.
2:00pm Concert of river-focused musicians, poets, dance and speakers starts 2:00pm and goes till 3:00pm.
3:00pm Procession around the Square for the river, featuring the craft makings, finishing 3:30pm.
